Is anybody listening? Hearing God in a noisy world – Sunday@10am
Week 3: A Heart that Listens
Some noise is easy to hear: the phone, the news, the group chat. Some is quieter. We hurry from one thing to the next and rarely stop to look back over the day, and without meaning to, we start to take on the shape of the world around us.
Early in Solomon’s reign, God appeared to him in a dream and said, “Ask what I should give you.” Solomon could have asked for a long life or for riches. Instead he called himself “only a little child” and asked for “an understanding mind to govern your people, able to discern between good and evil.” In Hebrew, what he asks for is a “listening heart”.
The Apostle Paul says: “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God.”
This Sunday, in week 3 of our series Is Anybody Listening? Hearing God in a noisy world, we ask how discernment grows, and how a few quiet minutes at the end of each day can help us see God’s goodness in ordinary things.
All Welcome
