“The whole assembly kept silence and listened.” That is how Luke describes the first Christians in Acts 15, facing a hard question. There had been much debate and noise, but then they heard Peter, then Barnabas and Paul, tell what God had done, and James showed that the prophets agreed. In the end they wrote, “it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.” This Sunday, in week 5 of Is Anybody Listening? we ask how we discern together, as a church.
