As the Government has requested, Ivanhoe Baptist Church (IBC) has closed its place of worship and the Livingstone Community Centre (LCC) has suspended its classes, groups, hall hire and all public gatherings.

We are encouraging all our groups and people to comply with Government advice to manage the COVID-19 outbreak. Please observe social distancing, hygiene practices and isolation requirements. Updates on these are available at:

However the Church has never been simply about buildings and a meeting at a particular time. No, the church is present when people, united in Jesus Christ are present, loving God and neighbour in service of the Kingdom of God. IBC our people not our buildings. And worship and ministry take place when ever our people are living the presence of the Spirit of God.

So the buildings might be empty but the church is at work

Worship, learning, encouragement, connection and care are happening as our church family pray, pick up telephones, write, email, Skype, Zoom, Facebook, message, stream and text. Meals are being dropped off for people who can’t get out or need a helping hand.
