DESCRIPTION:Join us this Sunday\, January 11th at 10am as we explore the cautionary tale of Herod the Great—a man who built monuments that stunned the world but couldn’t build peace in his own heart. \nHerod was clever\, powerful\, and wildly successful. He constructed cities and renovated the Jerusalem Temple into one of the ancient wonders of the world. Yet he died paranoid and alone—having murdered his own wife and three sons and countless others. \nWhen the Magi arrived seeking a newborn King\, Herod ordered the massacre of innocent children in Bethlehem. He had rebuilt God’s temple in magnificent splendor\, yet when God came to earth as a baby\, Herod tried to kill Him. \nJesus asked\, “For what does it profit a person if they gain the whole world but lose or forfeit themselves?” This Sunday\, discover what Herod’s life teaches us about ambition\, identity\, and the kingdoms we build. \nMorning tea and refreshments are served following the service. \nAll Welcome

DESCRIPTION:You are warmly invited to join us for Aboriginal Sunday\, a special service of prayer\, solidarity\, and worship as we stand together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the pursuit of justice\, healing\, and reconciliation. \nThis year’s theme\, “Be Strong and Courageous” (Joshua 1:9)\, reminds us that God’s command is also God’s promise—that we need not be afraid\, for the Lord is with us wherever we go. \nAll are welcome as we listen\, pray\, and commit ourselves to walking this journey of friendship and faith together. \nWe are meeting in our Livingstone Community Centre Hall which is airconditioned for your comfort. Morning tea will be served after the service. \nAbout Aboriginal Sunday\nMore than 85 years ago\, Aboriginal Christian Leader William Cooper called on Australian churches to set aside the Sunday before January 26 to stand in solidarity and pray for justice and the flourishing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. His deep faith and vision inspired what we now know as Aboriginal Sunday—a day for Christians to join together in support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.\nAboriginal and Torres Strait Christian Elders have long walked this path of strength and courage\, urging the Church to stand boldly and advocate for justice\, healing\, and reconciliation. Their faithful witness continues to inspire and lead us today.\nAboriginal Sunday is an opportunity for our church community to step further into this story. By gathering on January 25\, 2026\, we join a movement of Christians across these lands who are listening deeply\, praying with hope\, and taking action for justice and the flourishing of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sisters and brothers.\nWe invite you to walk this journey with us as together we pursue justice\, healing\, and flourishing for all peoples and all creation.
