DESCRIPTION:Banyule Churches Together invites you to our 2024 Annual Advent McKinney Lecture\nTitle:  If faith can move mountains\, why haven’t we moved beyond gendered violence and homelessness? \nSpeakers: \nFelicity Rorke – Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Inn. Chair of the Catholic Social Services Domestic Violence Working Group \nJoshua Lourensz – Executive Director Catholic Social Services \nRefreshments will be served following the presentations. \nAll Welcome \nThe McKinney Lectures\nRev. Dr. Richard McKinney\, born in 1938\, was a distinguished theologian and ecumenist who passed away on November 20\, 1996. He was known for his profound insights into the doctrine of the Triune God and his commitment to ecumenism\, bringing together diverse Christian traditions. Dr. McKinney served as the Director of Trinity Theological School until his retirement in August 1996. For over 20 years the Churches of East Ivanhoe\, Ivanhoe\, Heidelberg and Rosanna have been hosting an annual ecumenical Advent and Lenten lecture series in memory of Dick McKinney. Dick was a passionate ecumenist renowned for his intellect\, imagination and sharp wit. Over these past two decades and more\, a diverse range of men and women representing the breadth of Christian thought and experience have spoken in his memory.
